The history of the company in Germany starts with filmstarts in 2013 and since then the brand portfolio of Webedia GmbH, which was founded in spring 2014, is steadily growing.

Following the acquisition of the movie portal Moviepilot and the launch of the gamespilot gaming portal in 2014, IDG Entertainment joined the media company family with GameStar, GamePro and the allyance Network 2015. This later became the Webedia Gaming GmbH based in Munich.

Since January 2016, the creative event and marketing agency Flimmer and the gaming portal Mein-MMO.de belong to Webedia Germany.
