For more than 120 years NAMIC has been serving in the best interests of mutual insurance companies – large and small – across the United States as well as in Canada. We are the largest property/casualty insurance trade association with more than 1,400 member companies serving more than 170 million auto, home, and business policyholders. NAMIC member companies write nearly $230 billion in annual premiums, and have 54 percent of homeowners, 43 percent of automobile, and 32 percent of the business insurance markets.

Membership in NAMIC is not restricted to mutual insurance companies alone. Stock insurance companies, reinsurance companies and industry vendor companies may also apply to become associate members. More than 200,000 people are employed by NAMIC member companies.
